When should a drain snake be used?
Hair, paper and some residue blockages may be treated with a snake, provided access is suitable and the pipes are in good condition.

Drain snake unblocking
Reach and break up an obstruction inside the pipe.
Access to the pipework
Work may take place through an inspection point or after removing an accessible fitting. Opening floors or walls or cutting PVC requires a separate quote.
Limits of mechanical unblocking
A snake may open a passage without cleaning all pipe walls. Jetting may be more suitable for grease or recurring blockages. Unblocking does not repair a damaged pipe.
Checking the result
We test drainage afterwards. If the problem lies further away or in common pipework, further work may be proposed to the relevant person.
